Welcome to Jerryland
Lu and I went up to Dallas for a Cowboys game with my aunt and Goggle, who came from Las Cruces.
My whole life I have been raised to hate the Cowboys.
I have never known why though.
Anyway, the stadium is incredible and is home to the largest screen ever I think?
My uncle has season tickets.
He lives in New Mexico.
That’s pretty die hard if you ask me.
Cowboys lost by a millimeter. Such a great game though!
Biggest football fan alive.
We had a BLAST.

Our first date
Was here.
The House of Pies. Classy not trashy.
I could go into the long details, but I don’t think you care to hear them. In short, it involved spontaneity, almost getting jumped, pie of course, coffee of course, me paying (he was a poor college student. I was a sugar mama with a big girl job), and a late late night with work the next day. And they sat us in the strip club room (formerly the smoking section completely lit with neon green lighting) which sadly no longer exists.
This place holds a dear spot in my heart. My brothers and I have spent many a night eating pie, drinking coffee, eating Zach’s food. As a matter of fact, in the picture below, Devin is sitting across the table. It was MONTHS before our first date. I look disgustballs dot com. Zach was mad Alex and I were eating all of his food…so he stuck some toast in his pocket for safe keeping.
So anyway, it’s not like we haven’t been since, but D took me there last week. I had been begging.
House of guys pies is really great because you can see what your significant other would look like with other hair styles.
Exnay on the fro-ponytail…ay.
They have a rep for being out of every pie listed on the menu (I believe, on our first date, I got key lime. WHAT THE CRAP WAS I THINKING?! Key lime is like the worst!!!), and the waitresses are no b.s., so if you go to house of pizzies, you should follow Zach’s directions regarding what to order:
“Get the blueberry warm a la mode.
If they don’t have the blueberry warm warm a la mode,
get cherry warm a la mode.
If they don’t have cherry warm a la mode,
get pecan.
If they don’t have pecan,
get apple warm a la mode.
If they don’t have apple warm a la mode,
you should leave”.
Thank you sweet baby Moses. They had cherry. Oh how I love cherry pie. In all seriousness, I feel like it doesn’t get the credit it deserves NOR is it ever baked for a holiday. What was cherry pie made for!? My belly. That’s what.
Best coffee. Best coffee mugs. Want to steal one.
Beloved. You are never cuter than when you are eating something you love.
But seriously why in the sweet name of Bathsheba did you pick cheesecake?!
I forgive you. Just don’t touch my pie.
Go to house of pies. Ask for mustachio.
You’re welcome.

Love this.
My cousin, Michelle, is a super talented painter. She does amazing work in the Dallas/ Fort Worth area. She has done work on Extreme Home Makeover AND last I heard she was going to paint Jewel's house in the near future?
I saw her a couple of weeks ago when all of the girls got together and she gave us all one of these
How cute is that?! The lipstick print is painted on. A really cute idea for a group of girls.
I love it.

She Got Her Daddy’s Car and She Cruised Through the Hamburger Stand Now
If you ask my dad where he wants to get dinner, even if it’s celebrating his birthday/ a raise/ 30th wedding anniversary, he will say Whataburger every time.
For as long as I can remember, any time my mom was out of town or gone for the evening, he would take us to Whataburger for dinner. I always thought he was saying WATERburger (that’s a Texas accent for ya) and imagined the drive through worker dipping my burger in a sink full of water, then wrapping it up and handing it to me out the window. But how could it be dry when I opened it?!?! That was such a mystery to me as a kid. By kid, I mean until I was, like, 19.
We ate Whataburger all the time, and I’m not even mad about that memory. In fact, it’s one of my favorites.
When I see that orange and white, I think of my dad, windows down on Old Blue, riding on the bench next him, singing to the beach boys, picking up lunch for the fam.
I love that.
Random fact- in College Station, TX where Texas A&M is, their Whataburger is painted maroon and white. Because UT’s colors are orange and white. It’s unnecessarily excessive.
Are you wondering why I have pictures of a burger and fries?
OV06 trip to Texas. Stolen from Sgt. Lauren Hugel, U.S. Navy Attorney at Law/ Badass. Hugel I forgot your real title, but I think the one I made sounds pretty hard core. Kind of like Dr. Cardella, Medicine Woman.
So the point here is, if you wear orange today (buck up Aggies) to Whataburger between 5-8pm, your Whataburger is on the house.
And I am livid that I didn’t plan ahead and had sliders last night.
But probably not as mad as the people reading this who don’t live in Texas and henceforth do not have a Whataburger.

How I Inspired Charles Schulz.
My dad sent this to me yesterday in a mass family email
Everyone said Lucy reminded them of me…like, dead on.
[awkward pause]
[side eye]
I don’t know what they’re talking about.

June 15, 1987. A day that changed my world…
and thus began a beautiful friendship full of me putting him in strollers, carrying him by his head, chasing him down the street when he ran out the door naked, and treating him like my own baby.
I still treat him like he’s my own baby.
We have the same hair. We’re the only ones with that color. I love that.
He lives too far away now. I miss him terribly. Daily.
Thanks for being my best friend. And letting me steal your best friend helping me find my husband.
Oh heck, here come the tears.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Z-MAN!

Movin' Up in the World!

How exciting! My brother, Zach, just found out he got an internship in Washington, DC working for the Discovery Channel! We're so proud of him, so excited, and so sad he won't be in Houston for the summer...BUT! It is so neat to see how God has taught Zach patience. He has been working to get this for a long time, with a lot of closed doors, and it has paid off. So proud of you, Z-Man!
