A Friday List for You.

1.  Word of advice.  Do not under and circumstances watch PS I Love You while your man is not home.  Never. cried. so. much. ever.  Worst movie in history for my emotions.

2.  Trying a run this weekend.  I've rested it forever and Jackie and Jillian have killed me enough to crave a run to loosen up those sore muscles.  Note:  if you are injured, do NOT run on your injury.  It will make it so much more long term.  Lesson learned.

3.  I also may or may not but mostly may be picking up my new road bike from here this weekend.  Swoon.  I need a name for her.  She will soon be friends with Ruby.  And any other bikes who want to play.

4.  On Tuesday, I get to start a new chapter of my life.  Excited to wrap this one up.  Here's to the meantime.

5.  My next cookbook purchase

6.  This morning, the man and I discussed this year's apartment garden over breakfast.  It's about that time!  For whatever reason, our tomato plant made it all the way through winter and is thriving as we speak.  Planning to try some herbs again, maybe some peppers.  Oh that I would have my own plot of land for digging.  Someday.  In the meantime, I know just who I can live vicariously through.

7.  2011 seems to be the year of the babies!  I am so happy for all of you sweet friends who will be blessed with a little.  How very exciting!  I have lots of gifts picked out.

Happy weekend, friends.

Post o junk

I got nothin today.

This is a lie.  I have lots for you, but none of it is finished and ready to post.  So, today it's just all a bunch of hubbub.

Living Social is rockin' a deal that I am in love with today.
50% off an Amazon giftcard.  Check it out.

I found 3 new book stores that I can't wait to go loiter in for a while.
Lift and Brazos and Kaboom.

I had dinner with 2 old high school / new blogger friends.  Her and her.  As my grandma, Goggle, would say, I was tickled to death.  I'm thankful for new friends.  The 3 of us have dreams of planning an awesomehoustonbloggerstalkernewfriendconventionmeetup.  Soon.
Holler if you're in.

LOVING our new Bible study format.  Loving those girls.  Loving Psalms.

Still needing a miracle for our marathon a week from Sunday.  It's not lookin' good, folks.  We'll probably leave the city that weekend and the words "marathon", "running", "knee", "Achilles", and the likes will be banned from the vocabulary.  It's been disappointing.  This whole month sort of has.  Anyway.  Moving on.

We're ready for February and feeling good and hitting the bikes.  Shiner ride, anyone?

We made this yesterday / last night.  It's not tex mex.  It's Mexican.  Y to the U to the M.

I had a minor (some* would say major) freak out last night regarding our shrinking apartment.  This weekend, I will be pulling out all of my real simples for help.

Lance.  I have no words.

Valentine's is coming up!  Love it, or hate it?  Etsy has some way cute valentines.

Would love to see Blue Valentine.  I love both of the leads.  And the trailer.  But, too bad I don't like to watch R rated movies.  Someone let me know how it is.

*some = Devin.  and I'm sorry.

Love me a trip to Bucee’s

Anywhere you’re driving to in Texas, you’ll see one on the highway

And you can’t just, like, not stop.  In our case, we will hold it / starve until we reach one.

Things you might have or know someone who does that I am looking for, and other hodge podge

First, the hodge podge.

Lois is finally blooming.  You can see her via the link on the left.  The one that says Lois, people.  She is a corpse flower.  When she blooms, she will smell like a corpse.  Hence the name?

The Tour ends this weekend.  Big sad face.

Marathon registration is next week.  Pray we get in.  Pray until August because that’s when we find out.  K, thanks.

Now,  I am looking for the following:

1.  Picture frames.  I have, oh, maybe 10 pieces I need to frame and hang but I am too picky about the frames.  I don’t want to go to hobby lobby or Michael’s and buy a plain Jane frame for what I think is too much money.  I went to THE resale shop in Houston (The as in the best as in there are none better) last weekend to find some I can paint, searched through hundreds of frames, and didn’t find any- if I liked it, it wasn’t the right size.  Anyone loyal to a frame place and want to share?  Anyone have some in their place they want to give me?  No?  Ok

2.  A test tube rack.  For cheap.  Not kidding.  Anyone have one in their closet?  No?  Too weird?

3.  A new, stupendous, rockin’ Pandora station.

4.  Book recommendashe.  Devin will cringe now.  I get books in the mail probably once a week, and have plenty to read.  But I am always looking for new ones, so there.

5.  An iPod hooker upper to the car- that plays through your radio.  Mine broke last night.  So sad.  Anyone have a great one that they recommend??

Mush Brain Monday

I’m coming off a high of a stellar weekend, and my brain is mush.

If you gave to the Voeltners a few months ago, here’s an update for you!  For one, the next Sunday when I saw them, they had raised all of their money.  $6,000!!  When I posted, they were FAR from that.  I am certain that it did not all come from this little blog, but if you gave them some money, THANK YOU!!  They left last Tuesday for Lebanon!

I'm on the hunt for some affordable Wicked tickets.  I’m (w)itching to go.

I am on call for work this week.  I work for a hospital.  On Friday night,  I got a call at one am from a patient demanding to have a Coke.  He was livid that he could not have one.  Livid that I would not drive up to the hospital to find one for him.  He called me all sorts of names and said I was making all kinds of Americans mad.  So there’s that.  Discuss.

Don’t forget to check out Charasia’s registry (link in the top right corner) to find something to give to those sweet girls.

Moving right along to hot dogs.  Devin and I have been craving them but we want to make them (fyi we use turkey dogs) with some crazy toppings.  Anyone have any favorite combos?  Favorite place to get a dog?

Speaking of food, we had amazecake cupcakes this weekend.  Nom to the nom.

I bought my first running skirt this weekend.  I think I love it, and I’m very excited to wear it tomorrow for the Tuesday pub run where my girl Allie will dominate the 3.1 miles.

If you are pregnant or have babies, please email me.  Please?  There’s a link at the top left corner.  I have some research questions for you.
