A stellar weekend in list format.

1.  My new boots came in on Thursday and I got to break them in all weekend.

Be still my ever lovin' achy breaky heart.

ridiculous.
2.  Breaking in my boots included but was not limited to me re-tracking my steps twice throughout the entire Galleria looking for my car key.

3.  I found my car key.  Don't ask me where it was.

4.  Jeans shopping mission 2011 complete.  I hate jeans shopping with every bone in my body.  If I had the money I would have someone bring every pair of jeans that is for sale in America to my home and I would try them on in my bedroom.  I feel like you can't fully be sure of a pair of jeans until you wear them in your bed.

4a.  Jeans shopping is 49 times worse when you have to retrace your steps in the Galleria, but I digress.

5.  The Aggies lost the Cottonbowl.  This was not stellar for my husband and our friends who are 90% Aggies, however, Niko Nikos + a 10,000,000 inch TV + really comfy chairs + Xbox Kinect at half time = my kind of football watching.

6.  Highlight of the weekend: I finally got to meet up with my girl crush pen pal.  Remember her amazing place?  She and her man came down to our church, then we hit up Cedar Creek, one of our faves, for some lunch and talky talky.  She also brought me this.  A woman after my own heart.  I busted it out last night for some cookies that I'll finish up tonight.  Lauren, we had SO. MUCH. FUN!

7.  The grocery store is never a highlight for me.  So, just a picture.  Pay no attention to the indian feather on my head.

8.  And, at last, I pulled out my new sewing machine and did my first stitching.  The finished product.  I was so proud.  You can place your orders by emailing me with the subject line "Yeah Right".

Happy Monday, y'all!

Desperate Measures

This is completely necessary when SOMEONE* forgets to clean out their lunchbox for six days due to the holiday.

As my mother would say, "Gag a maggot!"
*Only 2 of us live here, so there is a 50% chance that this was me.

1.5.11

Dear husband, over the past few days, you have shoved liquids down my throat, taken me home early from New Years Eve, made impromptu dinners because of my slacking, fixed the netflix on the TV for me, made me laugh, brought me tylenol, talked deep, and kissed my forehead 1.4 million times.  I may start calling you Patch Adams.

Dear marathon, you stress me out more than my job lately.  Wait no.  But you're a close second on the stress o meter.

Dear Lisa , today is your SEVENTH BIRTHDAY!!  Did you know I sometimes daydream that I get to meet you and hug your widdle body so tight that you beg for me to let go a little bit in your beautiful Indian language?  I hope this is the best birthday of your life and I hope you love your birthday gift from Devin and me and MOST OF ALL I hope I get to meet you someday very soon.

Dear husband, since mid December, you have done hundreds of pull ups, push ups, and pick ups (and got more hot tamale muscles I must say).  I have no problem with this.

Wife.

Some word vomit to start off the year OR January you are my death wish

1. Have you seen this?  Gah!  We watched it a few days ago and before it started I reminded D that most documentaries are VERY one sided.  Yyyyeah if that's the case, I'm on their side.  I highly recommend that you find out where your food is coming from.  Because it's gross.  And sad.  And mostly gross.

2.  What are your resolutions?  I forgot mine already.  But we did get rid of our cable!  We're both really happy to save that money and go back to the way things were when we first got married- lots of reading, lots of bike rides, lots of talks on the patio.  We love no TV!

3.  Looking for some small space gardening tips.  We need to plan early this year!  Meaning we need to buy a stake for our tomato plant tonight because it thinks it's Spring right now.

4. I am sewing my first thing since 7th grade this week.  Prayers please.

5.  We are happy to be back in routine again.  By routine I mean I ran a fever all day yesterday and in turn forgot to go to work or plan any meals or do anything productive and instead watched 4 movies.

6.  I have to run 26.2 miles at the end of this month.  My knee still hurts.  A lot of words come to mind when I say those 2 things together, but none that I should write on here, so...crap.  And pray.  Crap and pray.
